The park is open year-round. The dry season from May to September offers the best wildlife viewing as animals gather near water sources. However, elephant sightings are excellent throughout the year.
Udawalawe is home to over 600 wild Asian elephants — one of the highest densities in Asia. Most safaris encounter herds of 20–50 elephants, including mothers with calves.
We offer 4-Hour, Half-Day (6-hour), and Full-Day (10-hour) private jeep safaris. All tours include an expert wildlife guide. Hotel pickup and drop-off can be arranged on request.
Yes! Udawalawe safaris are family-friendly and loved by children. Our comfortable jeeps, well-maintained park roads, and guaranteed elephant sightings — including adorable baby elephants — make it a memorable experience for the whole family.
